Rules

SECTION II – Creation (Compositions for Piano) – Second Edition, 2012
Competition is open to students, and graduate students from high schools, colleges, universities, academies and the Faculty of Music in Romania.
It is divided into two sub-sections based on age:
A) up to 18 years
B) between 18-30 years
The competition aims to:
Stimulate the creativity and encourage young musicians Romans
Find and promote the best compositions
Especially good for enriching the repertoire of Romanian students in the first
second cycle school (elementary and middle school), low in parts segment learning,
appropriate to their level of interpretation

Topics (content structure of the competition) will vary from one edition to another.

For the 2012 edition may be 2 versions of compositions for piano:
1) compositions of easy and medium difficulty for children 5-12 years at 2 and 4 hands (on the same piano), in various forms (lied theme with variations, thematic mini-suite, rondo, etc.) , lasting between 2-5 minutes
2) larger compositions, lasting between 5-15 min.
Conditions of participation:
A competitor is allowed a single work (for version 2), or one or more short pieces – as minutajului (first version), specifying the variant chosen (1 or 2).
You can also compete in both.
Registration Fee: for one variant – 50 lei, and for both versions – 100 lei
The work submitted must be original and unpublished until this contest.
Scores accepted: in manuscript (black characters) photocopied or typed with or without documentary CDs containing songs presented in the contest registration. These copies will mention only a title and motto for identification (no name or signature).
Registration’s deadline is May 20, 2012 (postmarked). Each reference must contain:
1. The composition in three (3) copies, which appear only title and motto
2. A sealed envelope will be noted that the motto appearing on the score. Inside the envelope will find:
3.Application form (which will include the full name of composer, place and date of birth, school belonging, full address, telephone number, e-mail)
4.sCopy of a document showing date of birth,
5. A brief curriculum vitae
6.A brief overview of the work that
7.Copy of the receipt of payment of registration fee
8. If annexation CD work presented in the contest, it will bear the motto inscribed on the score, without any note or comment.
Participation in the competition implies full acceptance by the competitors of this regulation and  jury decisions. For more information, competitors will address artistic secretariat of the Foundation.
Jury: The jury will be composed of prestigious personalities of Romanian musical life.
Awards: Following deliberation, the jury will award the following prizes: First Prize, II, III for each of the two variants. The jury reserves the right to decide not granted any of the above distinctions. Decisions are final and cannot be disputed. Awarded authors will be invited to participate in the Contest Gala Concert, on which will be announced after the end of entries (around the time of 23 to 24 June 2012).
The scores that will receive awards will remain in the Cultural Foundation “PRO PIANO-ROMANIA” property. Scores that have not received awards may be returned upon request of the authors.
The organizers will publish the awarded compositions in a special volume, together with other media promotions, TV and radio. Also, the works are likely to be interpreted in auditions and recitals organized by the Foundation throughout the year.

3. SECTION III – Musicology – Second Edition
Competition is open to students, and graduate students from Schools, Colleges, Colleges, Universities, Academies and Faculties of Music.
The competition consists of a single written examination and commenting a means of twentieth-century musical works (work that will be made when the contest). Date contest musicology: June 3, 2011. Time and venue will be announced in late May.
Entries will be made until May 31, 2011, by e-mail or directly to the organizer (phone information)
To subscribe you need the following:
1. copy of ID
2. application form below, fill
3. copy fee paying 50 lei
Will be awarded: first prize, second, third and special prizes. Awards consist of diplomas and cash prize and.
Awards Gala will be held with prizes for composition and interpretation section at a date to be announced later (23 or June 24, 2012).
